Apparel Trend- Fashion Week: What makes a great designer’s line?

With fashion weeks all over the world just finishing up.. I had to stop and think, what makes them great? Undoubtedly, their innovation, but many times what we forget is that it takes a team to create the line. The designers that work for the brands and couture houses, the patternmakers, sample makers, fabric buyers.. and the list goes on. Every collection is a team effort. They all understand the vision and who the customer is… and what their role is. It is an amazing and exciting time.. the world is watching.

product consulting

Do you have a Coach or Mentor? If the answer is “NO”… then you should find one!

For so any years, I thought I could do it all myself.. After all, I was developing a business that I was an expert in… right? I would rely on friends.. not the most objective group. Occasionally, I had one that was knowledgeable and truthful about the business… friends aside. But then I would always wonder why my business would only get so far? Does this sound similar?

Always thought that it was o.k. to go to a therapist for emotional issues and personal issues, but somehow, businesses didn’t fit into this… what was I thinking? Especially because I wanted to be a design consultant for the apparel industry and also mentor in manufacturing for small business and entrepreneurs. Your business is your passion, the expression of your soul.. That deserves get special attention!!!

Then I realized that I needed an expert to help me identify my best skills.. The same way I can help you! It was amazing…the clarity, inspiration, confidence and courage that I gained was incredible. Isn’t that what everyone wants, but too many times we get caught in all our own “’ stuff” and can’t see us the way that other people can and will? We all have talents that need to be expressed. Creativity can be expressed so many different ways.. apparel design, accessory development, business planning, to say nothing of people skills..

Many of us are reluctant because of the economy to allow ourselves to thing about spending any extra, but this is exactly why you should! If you are going to venture out on your own, an expert in your field will help prevent you from getting caught up in the costly mistakes that most people make and help you reach success faster! Have a coach to help you blossom!!!
